Winter Olympic Stadium

Since the last Olympics, the design world has needed to one up the Bird Nest Stadium and Natatorium. For the 2010 Winter Olympics, HOK and Populous have design a new stadium. This stadium, however, is going to made out of Crystalline skin, Which would shimmer. Thats my kind of stadium! I love sparkle. :). The pattern that makes the structure does remind me some of the birdnest stadium, Because of the odd shapes that makes the structure. I think it would be even more successful if they can figure out a way to not have so many structural elements showing. If it was just a simple shimmering surface against whatever is around it, would set it apart from the surrounding area.
